Frequently Asked Questions
Things we get asked a lot
Reaching Youths is a mentoring initiative dedicated to empowering young people through one-on-one support. We focus on building confidence, fostering social skills, and supporting emotional growth through meaningful activities tailored to each individual’s goals and needs.
Our mentoring program is designed for young people who could benefit from additional support in their personal, social, or educational lives. We work closely with families and caregivers to ensure the best outcomes for each mentee.
Mentoring sessions are personalized to each young person. Activities may include skill-building exercises, recreational outings, goal-setting, and emotional support. Every session is designed with the mentee’s interests and development goals in mind.
Each mentoring session typically lasts 3 hours. However, we are flexible and can adjust based on the needs of the mentee or specific activities planned.
Yes! Our mentors are experienced, trained, and passionate about supporting young people. They are also required to have a valid Working With Children Check and undergo ongoing training to ensure they can meet the needs of our mentees.
You can sign up by filling out the contact form on our website or reaching out to us via email or phone. After an initial consultation, we’ll work with you to create a mentoring plan that suits the needs of the young person.
Reaching Youths is not an NDIS-registered provider; however, we are able to work with participants who have self-managed or plan-managed NDIS funding. Please contact us to discuss how we can align our services with your NDIS plan and goals.
Our mentoring sessions are available every day of the week, starting as early as 7:30 AM and ending no later than 8:30 PM. We are happy to discuss scheduling that works best for you within these time frames.
Absolutely! We tailor each mentoring session to the interests, needs, and goals of the mentee. Whether it’s focusing on social skills, confidence-building, or recreational activities, we’ll work with you to create a personalised plan.
The cost of mentoring services varies based on the duration and frequency of sessions. Please contact us for a detailed breakdown of pricing and to discuss funding options, including NDIS.
At Reaching Youths, child safety is our top priority. We have a comprehensive Child Safe Environments Policy and procedures in place to protect the well-being of all young people. All mentors are trained in child safety and understand their mandatory reporting obligations.
We understand that unexpected situations may arise. However, cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled session. Cancellations or changes made within 24 hours will incur the full session fee.
